Shlomi Binder

Shlomi Binder is an Israeli major general and intelligence chief with a background in special operations and field command.

Influence and contribution

Binder served in Sayeret Matkal, commanded the Egoz unit and the Golani Brigade, and led major formations before taking responsibility for Military Intelligence. His mandate has included learning from the failures surrounding October 7 and rebuilding collection, analysis and warning.

Legacy and significance

Binder belongs in Moreshet because institutional renewal after failure is an essential part of military history. His record should be judged through documented reforms and outcomes, not through secrecy or symbolism alone.
