Ronan Tzur: A Political Consultant and Communicator

Ronan Tzur, born on July 27, 1969, is a seasoned political consultant who served as a member of the Israeli Knesset during the 16th Knesset term.

Ronan Tzur began his political career in 1990 within the Israeli Labor Party. Since then, he has been a central figure within the Labor Party, particularly during the tenure of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Tzur also held the position of CEO of the Movement for the Absorption of Released Soldiers and served as an advisor to Ran Cohen, a former Knesset member, and secretary-general of the Labor Party. Furthermore, he worked as an advisor to former Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer and to then-Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Yuli Tamir.

In 2004, Ronan Tzur joined the public relations office of Motti Morel, becoming a partner in the firm in 2007. In 2016, he sold his share of the company to Morel following a dispute between the two.

In the 16th Knesset elections, Ronan Tzur ran on the Labor Party's list and served as a Knesset member for three months at the end of the term, taking the place of resigning Knesset member Salah Tarif.

Tzur played a significant role during the Carmel fire crisis, representing the Minister of the Interior, Eli Yishai, and the striking doctors during their labor dispute. He also provided counsel to a diverse range of clients, including the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, Delek Energy, the Rothschild Foundation, the Public Companies Association, the Association of Pharmaceutical Companies, the Water Corporations Forum, Bombardier, Oracle Israel, and Raffon. Notably, he represented President Moshe Katsav but resigned when Katsav violated their agreement during a press conference.

In August 2010, several of Tzur's senior competitors in the public relations field accused him of unscrupulous practices, specifically related to soliciting their existing clients. They revealed a letter that Tzur would send to their clients, a practice considered unethical within the field of public relations.

In March 2012, Tzur represented psychiatrist Dr. Ilan Rabinovich, who became embroiled in the "Soccer Ball Affair" on the reality show "Big Brother." Contestants on the show accused Rabinovich of administering psychiatric medications during the program. In April 2012, Tzur also represented the CEO of the website "In Haredi Rooms" in a case connected to the site's name.

During the 21st Knesset elections in May 2012, Tzur managed the campaign for the new Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) leader, Ofer Eini.

Throughout 2012, Tzur represented the Organization of Nurses in Israel in their fight for improved working conditions. He also played a key role in the Pelephone crisis, negotiations for teacher employment terms, and the Israel Stock Exchange union.

In 2018, Tzur represented Malka Leifer in her battle against extradition to Australia, where authorities sought to bring her to trial on charges of child sexual abuse. Leifer, a former school principal in the ultra-Orthodox community, faced accusations of misconduct against her students. Tzur also served as the media advisor for Arnon Milchan and clarified his position in the press during the "Case 1000" investigation.

In preparation for the April 2019 elections to the 21st Knesset, Tzur was appointed as the strategic advisor for the Blue and White Party's campaign. However, internal disagreements between Tzur and Yair Lapid led to his departure from the party's campaign. In August 2019, he advised again, this time personally, for Blue and White's candidate for prime minister, Benny Gantz, during the party's second run in the elections for the 22nd Knesset.

In September 2020, Ronan Tzur's office was hired by the city of Bnei Brak to lead a campaign advocating for the construction of a light rail line in the city. As part of the campaign, a video was released featuring an Israel Railways employee preventing ultra-Orthodox individuals from entering the train. The video stirred controversy on social media, but it was later revealed that the incident was staged as part of the campaign.

Starting in December 2020, Tzur provided public relations services for the cybersecurity company Shiirbit after it fell victim to a cyberattack.

After the 24th Knesset elections, Tzur was appointed as the head of the coalition negotiations on behalf of the Labor Party.
