Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is an American legislator and one of the longest-serving Jewish women in the United States Congress.

Influence and contribution

Representing South Florida since 2005, Wasserman Schultz has worked on healthcare, civil rights, national security and the United States–Israel relationship. She helped establish Jewish American Heritage Month and has made education about Jewish history and antisemitism a durable part of her legislative work.

Legacy and significance

Her career belongs in Moreshet because it joins electoral longevity with concrete work on public memory. She also represents an effort to sustain pro-Israel advocacy inside a politically diverse Democratic coalition.
