Alex Karp: work, influence and a contemporary legacy

Alex Karp is an American technology executive and co-founder and chief executive of Palantir Technologies.

Influence and contribution

Karp helped build Palantir around software for integrating complex data in government, defense, medicine and industry. He has argued publicly that technology companies must engage with democratic national security, and he has been an outspoken supporter of Israel and opponent of antisemitism.

Legacy and significance

Karp belongs in Moreshet because his career sits at a difficult modern intersection: data, state power, ethics and security. His work invites both recognition of technological capacity and scrutiny of how that capacity is governed.

Editorial note on inclusion

Alex Karp is included even though this public figure and their record are controversial among broad sections of the public. Inclusion does not declare the influence positive or negative; it records a consequential role in shaping the lived experience, culture and way of life of the communities affected. The existence of sharply differing assessments is itself part of the historical record and supports documenting this figure within the legacy of the Jewish people.
