Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Reiner achieved great success as a filmmaker. Some of his well-known films include "Stand by Me," "The Princess Bride," "When Harry Met Sally," "A Few Good Men," and many more.
In 1987, he co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment, a production company, along with producers Martin Shafer, Andrew Scheinman, Glenn Padnick, and Alan Horn.

He also participated in the Howard Dean campaign before the Democratic Party Convention.
