Jules Bache

Jules Semon Bache was a successful banker who grew his firm, J.S. Bache & Co., into an international business by investing in projects like the New York City subway. He was also a dedicated art collector, donating valuable works, including Old Masters, to the Metropolitan Museum, where they are still displayed as "The Bache Collection." (November 9, 1861 – March 24, 1944)
