Dubi Weissenstern

Dubi Weissenstern is an Israeli emergency-response executive and chief executive of ZAKA.

Influence and contribution

Weissenstern has led a volunteer organization that responds to disasters, rescues victims and treats the dead with dignity in Israel and abroad. He has also worked to strengthen governance and develop long-term psychological support for volunteers exposed to traumatic scenes.

Legacy and significance

His story belongs in Moreshet because societies are measured by care at their most painful moments. The combination of rapid response, religious respect and attention to responder trauma gives his work lasting civic significance.
